This is the last weekend of the 2020 season for Texas-Tulips ‘u-pick’ field near San Antonio

Texas-Tulips is about to close the flower field’s inaugural season in La Vernia.

The “u-pick” flower field opened the first-ever San Antonio-area location in January. Since then, visitors have been stopping by for pictures and picking. The season will close on March 9 and will not be open for spring break. The business is inviting guests out for the final weekend of 2020 to “pick a bouquet of tulips in all shapes, sizes and colors.”

The tulip farm will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Looking to squeeze in a last-minute visit? Here’s some quick information to know before you go: admission is $5 per person, parking is free, concessions are available, photography is welcome, u-pick stems are $2.50 each and will be wrapped in “pretty paper” with flower gel to preserve them for the trip home. Dogs and other animals (with the exception of service animals) are not allowed.

Though the 2020 season is coming to an end, flower fans can start preparing for 2021. The Texas-Tulips Bulb Shop is accepting online orders for a wide variety of flowers so customers can grow their own at home. The current pricing is $1.08 per bulb, sold by the dozen. Deliveries are scheduled from early December 2020 through early January 2021.

Texas-Tulips’ original field, in Dallas, will be open for spring break, the website says.
