Amid coronavirus fears, local shoppers continue to pack grocery stores.

Paul DiGiovanni from dgdronephoto.com took a drone shot of people creating a long line that wrapped around Sam’s Club at De Zavala Road on Tuesday.

DiGiovanni said that the photo was taken at around 9:30 a.m., which was 30 minutes before the membership-only warehouse opened its doors.

“People were waiting there for hours and probably got there around 8 a.m. that morning,” DiGiovanni said. “The store ended up opening a little before 10 a.m. because it was getting longer.”

Sam’s Club tweeted on Sunday that if members are experiencing long checkout lines to use its patented Scan and Go feature on its mobile app. The feature will allow members to scan their items with their phones, add them to a cart and skip the checkout line altogether.
