Chaminade quarterback Jaylen Henderson announced his top eight college choices Tuesday morning, narrowing his options to Vanderbilt, Fresno State, Boise State, San Diego State, Utah State, Louisville, New Mexico and Yale.
“Thanking God and All of the Coaches that recruited me and Blessed me with an opportunity to further my education as well as compete at the next level,” Henderson tweeted. “One step closer to my goal!”
Henderson is ranked among the top dual-threat quarterbacks in California, according to 247Sports.com. He led the Eagles to the CIF Southern Section Division 2 championship as a junior after throwing for 2,664 yards and 20 touchdowns. He also ran for five touchdowns.

Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, which has limited athletes from attending positional camps or even high school practice, Henderson’s recruitment has continued to rise.
Chaminade began socially distant practice in the middle of June.
